EPDs are internationally recognized and are standardized.<\/p>\n<p>EPDs can contribute to LEED v4 and v4.1 points in the Building Product Disclosure and Optimization (BPDO) \u2014 Environmental Product Declaration category. In LEED v4, an EPD is worth half a product; in LEED v4.1, it is worth one product. This category is to encourage and reward project teams that use products and materials for which life cycle information is available.<\/p>\n<h1>Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA)<\/h1>\n<p><strong>The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) has recently completed, together with its\u2019 member companies, a multiyear effort to develop EPD\u2019s for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iko.com\/comm\/product-categories\/roofing-solutions-bur-built-up-roofing\/\">asphalt roofing systems<\/a>. These documents provide information that building and construction professionals can use to support environmental aspects of roof systems as part of sustainable building projects and better understand their impact over time. These EPD\u2019s are in accordance with ISO 14025 and rely on a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).<\/strong><del><\/del><\/p>\n<p><strong>Six (6) new industry-generic (industry-wide) ARMA EPD\u2019s are now available for low-slope SBS- and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iko.com\/comm\/product-categories\/roofing-solutions-app\/\">APP-modified bitumen systems<\/a> adhered by various methods and for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iko.com\/comm\/product-categories\/roofing-solutions-bur-built-up-roofing\/\">built-up<\/a> (hot asphalt adhered) roofing systems.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iko.com\/comm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2024\/06\/107.2_ARMA-APP-Torch-Applied.pdf\">APP-Modified Bitumen Roofing Membrane<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iko.com\/comm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2024\/06\/109.2_ARMA-BUR-1-Cap-and-3-felts.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Built-Up Asphalt Roofing Membrane<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iko.com\/comm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2024\/06\/102.2_ARMA-SBS-Cold-Adhesive.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SBS-Modified Bitumen Roofing Membrane: Cold Adhesive<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iko.com\/comm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2024\/06\/104.2_ARMA-SBS-Hot-Asphalt.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SBS-Modified Bitumen Roofing Membrane: Hot Asphalt<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iko.com\/comm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2024\/06\/103.2_ARMA-SBS-Torch-Applied.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SBS-Modified Bitumen Roofing Membrane: Torch Applied<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iko.com\/comm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2024\/06\/101.2_ARMA-SBS-Self-Adhered.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SBS-Modified Bitumen Roofing Membrane: Self Adhered<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For more information about ARMA and its\u2019 initiatives, visit: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asphaltroofing.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">asphaltroofing.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h1>Polyisocyanurate Insulation Manufacturers Association (PIMA)<\/h1>\n<p><strong>PIMA\u2019s industry-wide EPDs are a comprehensive analysis of the cradle-to-grave impact of polyiso roof and wall products. This analysis was conducted by a third party in accordance with ISO 14025. The analysis includes environmental impacts of supply and transportation of raw materials, as well as the manufacture, transport, installation, replacement and end-of-life disposal of polyiso products. These documents also report the energy-saving benefits of using polyiso. Primary data from Canadian and U.S. PIMA member manufacturers was collected for the reference year of 2017 by the EPD program operator, NSF.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>EPDs can contribute to LEED v4 and v4.1 points in the Building Product Disclosure and Optimization (BPDO) \u2014 Environmental Product Declaration category. SPRI provides the best forum for its members to collectively focus their industry expertise and efforts on critical industry issues. By acting as a trade organization, as opposed to each member working individually, the group can effectively improve product quality, installation techniques, workforce training and other issues common to the industry.
