Rob Davidson – VP Residential Sales in Canada

Hi I’m Rob Davidson, Vice-President for Residential Sales for IKO Canada.

Q: What do you see as some of the upcoming trends in residential roofing for 2017 and 2018 in Canada?

A: We see designer styles becoming more popular, and a lot of interest has been focused on our high-def colors in our Dynasty® shingle line.

Q: How do you have to adjust for roofing sales in Canada vs. how the business operates in the US?

A: Fundamentally, the business in Canada and the US is very much the same: you have consumers looking for value and quality and contractors looking for, basically, quality and service they can trust.

Q: What is your favorite IKO asphalt shingle product and what is your favorite color blend?

A: I’d have to say my favorite shingle product would be the Royal Estate™ product line and the color I would choose would be the Shadow Slate.

Q: How long have you been with the company?

A: I’ve been with IKO now for over 22 years.

Q: What is your favorite thing about working with IKO?

A: I find IKO is a very progressive company, always on the innovative edge of trying to provide better quality products to our end users, customers and roofers.

Q: What does a day in the life look like for the VP Residential Sales in Canada?

A: VP of Residential Sales is a real mixed bag, you can find yourself doing a number of different tasks, dealing with customers, dealing with internal staff, dealing with different departments. It keeps life interesting.

Q: What do you love about IRE?

A:  IRE is a great place to get together with customers from all over the country. You get to explore some of the best innovations in the roofing industry and share your experiences with others.
