Company increases footprint, modernizes manufacturing and expands market reach
NEW ORLEANS, LA. (February 6, 2018) – IKO, a global manufacturer of residential roofing shingles and commercial waterproofing and roofing products, continues its commitment to the U.S. roofing market with the opening of its Hillsboro, Texas plant. Hillsboro marks the fifth roofing shingle plant IKO operates in the United States, and the sixth new manufacturing facility since 2013.
With a focus on innovative products and processes, the company proactively identifies opportunities to remain one of the most technologically advanced roofing manufacturers in North America. In the new plants, and in modernization efforts across all facilities, IKO is using the most up-to-date technology in manufacturing. This, along with vertical integration provides tremendous control over the quality and consistency of products and allows for new innovations like Dynasty® with ArmourZone®.
The new facility represents the company’s ongoing commitment to the roofing industry, response to demand and an optimistic industry outlook.
“We have seen the residential roofing market rebound over the past few years, and expect demand to remain strong,” reports Keith Lowe, vice president, U.S. sales. “A growing economy, consumer and contractor confidence, and continued growth in new construction are creating demand, and we aim to meet our customers’ needs. We’re doing just that by opening this facility – our first in the southwestern U.S.”
