When you're replacing Europe's longest
roof - over the heads of more than 1600 people in 500 residences
- reliability and durability are important. When the architects
for Camden's Alexandra Road Complex needed to replace the
roof, they specified Permanite Roofing. The 15,000 m2 job
used a Permaphalt mastic asphalt flat roof with extruded
polystyrene insulation boards, and was finished with paving
slabs and pebbles to provide complex residents with a rooftop
terrace.

Ariha
Highway - Latakia, Syria
This Highway project through mountains
and valleys is built to connect Latakia, the main port in
Syria, to Aleppo the northern industrial eapital. This 120 km highway consists of 92 bridges and a 136.000 square meter surface. The project was handled by Atab Bridge Waterproofing System and is executed by BMC, Atab's certified roofer covered by an international technical Agreement Certificate.
This project is not only remarkable by the surface. Also the technology of putting the asphalt directly over the waterproofing membrane is unique in Syria.

Science Park - Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, UK
Begbroke Science Park in the rural
village of Yarnton, is one of the latest additions to Oxford
University. Built on the site of a17th Century Jacobean
farmhouse, which has been restored and now houses some of
the Science Park's offices and conference facilities, the
site is a fascinating and subtle mix of the old and the
new.

Embassy - Moscow, Russia
We supplied high performance products
for roofing and waterproofing to the basement areas of the
new British Embassy complex in Moscow. The building was
constructed as a joint venture between Taylor Woodrow and
Skanska. Our Superflex roofing system was selected because
of its high performance characteristics of durability and
flexibility at temperatures as low as -30°C, a critical
factor given the local climate. Our Plasprufe tanking system
was used for the basement waterproofing.

Crichton
Castle - Midlothian, Scotland
Crichton Castle is a Grade A Listed
Building and Scheduled Monument that occupies a dramatic
rural setting at the top of a steep slope overlooking the
River Tyne in Scotland. This moorland location provided
the first major obstacle that award winning Lenaghen Roofing
Services had to overcome during the roof renewal as the
building is only approachable via a rutted track, which
made getting materials and equipment to the site extremely
difficult.

Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel - Birmingham, England, UK
The prestigious Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, one of the busiest hotels in Europe, has benefitted from Marley Waterproofing’s cold applied technology.
Following initial investigations by Cyril Sweett Ltd (consultant), Marley Waterproofing, working in conjunction with Central Roofing and Building Services, was asked to provide a bespoke specification offering a minimum 10 year guarantee to refurbish the hotel and dining room roof areas. The Hotel was to remain fully occupied throughout the duration of the works and disruption to the guests and delegates within the hotel was to be prevented. Therefore, following extensive roof analysis, a tailored system integrating several different cold applied materials, within a single point guarantee, was proposed to reduce the potential for upheaval or impact, particularly to the Dining and Conference areas where the noise was to be kept to an absolute minimum.

Tennis Hall - IKO Solar Project - Lanaken,

The IKO Solar photovoltaic panels
installed on the roof of the Lanaken tennis hall were officially
put into operation on 6 November 2009.
A total of 310 solar panels were installed, comprising
a 40 kWp system that will generate enough capacity
to light the hall’s 8 tennis courts for 2 hours a day.

Rambler
Channel Bridge - Hong Kong, China
We provided 55,000 m² of Bridgeguard bridgedeck waterproofing
membrane for this 500 m bridge, which spans the Rambler
Channel in Hong Kong. Contractors Wheeler Waterproofing
(S&C) Ltd installed Bridgeguard which was chosen for
its water impermeable characteristics, and ease and speed
of installation.

Sports
Stadium - Ventspils, Latvia
Ultraply single ply bituminous roofing system has been used
on this new Sports Stadium in Ventspils, Latvia. Ultraply
was chosen principally for its speed of installation as
the entire 9,800 m² roof had to be complete in just
60 days. One of the features of the project is the very
striking shape of the roof, which comprises a series of
barreled sections arranged at imaginative angles to each
other. The stadium was designed by architect Girts Vanags
of Postform Projekts, and the roofing was installed by Dzega
- Jumti SIA of Riga.

Townsend
Primary School – Stoke-on-Trent, England, UK
Townsend Primary School in Stroke-on-Trent is a new build
project which features an extensive roof garden development.
Part of the $153 million Stoke Schools PFI contract - the
largest project of its kind in the UK, Townsend School's
green roof was designed and installed by Permanite Engineered
Roofing Systems in partnership with the approved contractors
Evergreen Roof Gardens of Worthing and Helix Roofing of
Cheshire.

Waterproofing systems from Ruberoid were chosen for re-roofing
at the Headquarters of Formula One motor racing team Williams
F1, in the UK. While Williams' automotive engineers continued
working inside, a three year program of phased renewal took
place overhead.
