Modiflex Roof Tapes are constructed using an inorganic reinforcing mat of high strength non-woven glass fibers. Coated top and bottom with select SBS polymers and premium quality asphalt, the tape’s top surface is sanded while its self-adhesive backing is covered with a silicone treated release film for easy removal during application. The product is used primarily as a fire tape to resist the penetration of an open flame into open joints, voids, gaps or holes in new combustible substrates. Available in 76 mm (3″) and 152 mm (6″) widths, Modiflex Roof Tapes are installed prior to the application of heat welded modified bitumen membranes.
