Water is a home’s greatest enemy. Roofing shingles are the first line of defence but Ice & Water Protectors and IKO GoldSeam Tape provide crucial, added protection. Because IKO is a vertically integrated manufacturer, it maintains strict quality control over the materials that go into its ArmourGardTM, GoldShieldTM, IKO StormShield® Ice & Water products and its IKO GoldSeam Tape. These membranes are part of IKO’s PRO4 Integrated Roofing Components for total weather protection and peace of mind.
GoldShield is a premium Ice & Water Protector. In fact, it’s the best underlayment IKO has ever made. If properly applied, its unique sealing properties form a protective seal around each nail or fastener leaving no space where water can drip through. This self-adhesive membrane has a silicone-treated release sheet that is easily removed for quick installation. A slip-resistant surface makes installation safer, too.
ArmourGard is a modified bitumen roll roofing product that is applied as a protective layer under shingled roofs. This membrane prevents water penetration caused by ice dams or wind-driven rain. ArmourGard can also be used as underlayment around roof-top structures or apertures such as chimneys, dormers and skylights, to name a few. It can also be applied as an exterior vapor barrier for foundations and basements.
IKO StormShield® is an economical, modified bitumen roll roofing product that protects critical roof areas that are most susceptible to water leakage caused by ice dams and wind-driven rain. When properly applied, this self-adhesive membrane creates a watertight seal and its tear-resistant properties ensure that it will protect against potential ice and water damage for the long term.
Leading industry experts have identified the gap between the fascia and the roof deck as the most vulnerable area of the roof. It’s the primary site of ice damming, moisture and rot issues, water infiltration and a main entry point for insect and rodent infestation.
IKO GoldSeam is an advanced multi-function tape that effectively seals that gap and protects other areas susceptible to such potential problems.
